ESTRO’s fact sheets provide general information about the tumours commonly treated with radiotherapy either as the only treatment or in combination with other forms of treatment.
They have been written with the help of experts in the treatment of these conditions to help patients and their carers understand their illness and the available approaches to treatment.
In all there are 17 fact sheets but most describe more than one disease. The topics covered are listed in the navigation bar to your right. Wherever possible we have tried to use everyday language but some technical terms are inevitable. The glossary defines words that are likely to be unfamiliar.
The fact sheets are not a substitute for detailed discussion between patients, their doctors and other health professionals. These discussions will take into account all the factors relevant to individual patients as well as the way that local health services are organised.
